Welcome to ASHRAE Greenville
A Message From The President
Thanks our speaker David Pleasants for making the trip to Greenville to give us a great presentation on Ultrasonic Flow & Energy Metering. I think everyone found it to be an interesting and fresh topic – all reviews were very positive. We have a special treat for this month’s meeting – we’ll be doing a tour of an Underfloor System on the Clemson ICAR Campus. In addition, we are inviting our Clemson Student Chapter to attend.
When you see students there, please do what you can to introduce yourself and make them feel welcome. Please note the details below, as we are meeting at a different timeand in a different location than usual.
There will be a free, live ASHRAE Webcast on April 19th from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Dedicated Outdoor Air Systems – A Path to Balancing Energy and IEQ. By watching the Webcast, you will be eligible for 3 PDH credits. I will hand out information at our March Chapter meeting on how to register. You can also find information on the ASHRAE Society website.
Other discussions during our Board of Governors meeting on February 14th include the following:
• We are still trying to fill all of our positions for the 2012-2013 ASHRAE year – please let me know if you are interested in volunteering.
• Mechanical Contractors Association of South Carolina is having a meeting on May 1st at BMW with Congressman Trey Gowdy. We are in discussions MCASC about creating a joint meeting.
• We’re still looking at doing a Chapter Social Night sometime this spring – we are leaning towards doing a Clemson/Furman baseball game at the Greenville Drive Stadium on April 10th.
• We are donating $375 to the upcoming Science Fair that Roper Mountain Science Center is hosting. The $375 includes a silver level sponsorship and 2 awards for participants in the Science Fair. The Science Fair judging will on 3/27 and the Awards Ceremony on 4/10.
